New Possible Podcast Show.

So I have found an excellent site called talkshoe.com that I have been using to participate in LOST discussions.  I think this would be a great platform to launch thecardinalnation.com talkcast (podcast).  This site allows you to do a live call in show.  It is very similar to a talk radio call in show but it is uses the internet as a platform.  The way it works is that the host (me) would set up the show and people can call in to talk Cardinal baseball.  If you don’t wish to actually be on the show, they provide a live chat box that you can take part in while listening to the show.  All participants need to do to join the show is call in to the show from your cell phone, home phone, work phone, or Skype type program.  It is free to use and join.  There is a Cardinal Talk show on talkshoe.com but they have not produced a show since 2008.

The program automatically makes a recording of the show that you could post on the Cardinal Nation Forum.  I think this could really give the Cardinalnation.com Scout site a real bump while providing another platform for our great fans to have their opinions heard.  My vision is a one hour weekly show that would air on Cardinal off days.  That way, our fans can still get their Cardinal fix even when the boys don’t have a game on the schedule.  The format of the show would cover how the Redbirds did the previous week and highlight the matchups we will see in the following week, a hot stove section, we would cover the “hot” topics of the Cardinal Nation Forum, a get to know your posters segment, where we interview a poster from the Cardinal Nation Forum, and a segment where a Cub fan calls into the show and we spend 3 good minutes making fun of this caller and the Cubs in general.  Those are just a few different segments that could be included in this type of show.

I will be in school part time this summer while working part time, so I should have plenty of time to run this endeavor.  I wanted to get this post out there now to gauge interest in this kind of show and of course to get permission from Brian to make Thecardinalnation.com the home for this show.  I think this could be a lot of fun.  Let me know what y’all think of the idea and if you would want to participate.
